3 Things I Wish I Knew Before Learning AI

Two years ago, I was just starting to experiment with ChatGPT on my phone.
I had no idea it would become a daily tool in my workflow, helping me automate tasks, brainstorm ideas, and even build small AI-powered projects.
Looking back, there are a few things I wish I had known before diving into AI:
🔹 You don’t need to be a machine learning expert to start.
I used to think AI was only for researchers and data scientists.
But the reality is, there are so many tools now that let you automate and create with AI-without needing to build a model from scratch.
🔹 Experimenting is the best way to learn.
I spent a lot of time looking for the “perfect” course, but what helped me the most was getting hands-on-tweaking AI workflows, building automations, and testing ideas in real-world projects.
🔹 AI changes fast, and that’s okay.
At first, I felt overwhelmed by how quickly AI tools evolve.
But I’ve realised you don’t need to “keep up” with everything-just focus on what’s useful for you.
🔹 You’ll feel like an imposter sometimes.
Seeing the amazing things people were doing with AI made me feel left behind. I admit I had a bit of fomo.
But I’ve learned that everyone’s at a different stage, and the key is to keep learning and building at your own pace.
If you’re thinking about getting into AI, my advice is: start small, play with AI tools, and don’t wait until you “feel ready.”
Curious - what’s something you wish you knew before you tried something new? Or, if you haven’t started learning AI yet, what’s holding you back?
